To further enrich the "Resident Faculty Mentor Station" initiative within the student community and help undergraduates clarify their development direction, the School of Art and Design, in collaboration with the School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, held a special lecture titled "Industry-Academia Cooperation Empowers Cutting-Edge Design Practice" on the afternoon of November 6 at the One-Stop Student Service Center. The lecture was hosted by Yuan Xiao and Liu Xianbo, counselors from the two schools, and delivered by Zhuang Yi, a faculty member from the School of Art and Design. The venue was fully packed, with a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere.

Professor Zhuang Yi began by posing three thought-provoking questions: "Can the design be implemented?" "Can the product be profitable?" and "How can creativity be balanced with reality?" She then systematically outlined the industry-academia cooperative training process, clearly illustrating a progressive pathway—from industry exposure through field research and internships, to skill consolidation via engineering fundamentals and model making, and finally to capability enhancement through specialized projects and graduation design.

Using the commercial kitchen sector as an example, she further broke down the training system of "design fundamentals — specialized basics — specialized expansion — practical application," explaining how courses synergize with off-campus bases and industry mentors, supported by concrete collaborative cases. This lecture not only provided students with a systematic interpretation of the core elements of industry-academia cooperation but also built a bridge between academic learning and industry frontiers, effectively helping students clarify their academic and career development paths and laying a solid foundation for future practical engagement and workplace readiness.
